It’s best to learn from those who’ve been at the heart of the storm of Covid-19. With the Department of Basic Education posed to reopen schools, parents and the public at large would hope that their children are not sent over the cliff.

With some schools having reportedly already reopened schools, it leaves a question if the Department is really in control of the sector on the ground?

The premature reopening of some schools this week without the Department of Basic Education’s approval has to be a sign that South Africans are not ready for what’s coming their way.

This should help the Department realize that a good plan on paper does not equal to good implementation.
