Celebrity hairstylists Legends Barbershop empowers Freedom Park High School learners with cool hairstyles.
The learners of Freedom Park High school, South of Johannesburg were graced by the services and talents of the number 1 barbershop in Gauteng, Legends Barbershop. Originally from Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, Legends barber hairstylists have worked their way to the very top of the industry. Styling celebrities such as the Award-winning Radio Personality Masechaba Ndlovu, ‘The coolest kids in Africa’, SA Rapper Nasty C and If hit-maker, the Nigerian rapper Davido to name a few.
Freedom Park High School is only 3 years old; however in their 1st year of establishment, they were able to get a 100% Matric pass rate. On the 28th of March 2018 together with Lonwabo Lesizwe, Legends Babershop, took their social drive #LegendsGiveBack to the school. Upon realizing that they will be getting haircuts from professional stylists of such celebrities, learners were ecstatic. It was a dream come true for some learners with afore knowledge of Legends Babershop to have their haircuts by the Legends stylists since they couldn’t afford it.

Among the learners who got their hair cut was Amahle Thusani, “I was so happy and loved the way they cut my hair” Amahle wants to study Accounting after she completes high school. Also, Luyanda Manqele, grade 12 learners and the school’s president said: “we’re grateful, motivated and inspired to be in the presence of one of the most well known hair stylists in Africa.” The hairdos were very helpful specifically to grade 12s who were going on a learning school camp a week later on the 3rd of April.
Co-owner of Legends Barbershop Eldorado Park Eusto Lemmetjies said: “We have to change at how outsiders look at our community and, I have been part of the community development for many years and have passion for serving; therefore, it is with great pleasure to be giving back to the kids” Legends now sit at six stores, five in Gauteng and one in Kwazulu-Natal.
