In times when scientists, governments and businesses do not know! The all knowing God is the answer. We’re on lockdown!

South Africa went from watching the news about China and Italy to being the news.

All the fun and jokes ain’t so funny anymore. The 21 days lockdown is no joke, it maybe fun if you have all necessities to stay in the comfort of your home.

But for most people this is a matter of life and death.

Think about the millions who live in overcrowded places like the hostels and shacks. Hundreds of thousands of unemployed people who live on piece jobs.

Our mothers and sisters who wake up in the morning and go to the streets to sell amagwinya (fatkoek), ujeqe (steam bread), Tupperware and many more to support their families. That is all gone!

Think about freelancers in the media and entertainment industry. The tourism and events, this going to be a bloodbath!

These are the times where we realize that creation belongs to the Creator.

Lockdown

All that we have heard from world leaders is this: wash your hands (and you should do so), stay away from people (impossible, hence the lockdown), don’t touch your face (impossible), use an elbow to cover your cough and sneeze and use that elbow to greet someone (not wise).

Not promising isn’t it?

Not so long ago we were assured that everything is under control, everyone coming into the country will be screened and tested, that obviously didn’t work.

It is clear that our leaders, scientists, business community are nothing but humans as well. Their understanding is limited and eventually comes down to the “we don’t know”.

Let this lockdown be the opportunity for your family to go back to the Word of God for answers.

This will be a great time for prayer and meditation. Allow God to reveal his greatest Love for you which is Jesus through whom the healing overflows.

The lockdown is for our healing.

There’s no harm in seeking Jesus as our healer, as our provider and as a saviour. He is our light and hope in this darkness. That’s the beauty of believing in Him, fear is destroyed.

I pray that you and your family find comfort in the loving hands of the Father. That He is our assurance. He has gone before us and that He has redeemed us so that no harm could befall us.

Nkosi Sikelel’i Africa!
